this is just a small way black people resisted slavery everyday

• Appointed black overseers would pretend to beat other slaves.
• Quilts would be made that would signify where safe houses were for runaways.
• Killing the children to prevent their rape/being sold.

• “Played Sick” to get relief from their daily work
• Broke tools to slow down the work process…
• Played “dumb” to seem as if they did not understand instructions to slow down the pace of work.
